Hello from Mumbai, India!

For those of you who took the beta course of How to Start an Online Business & Create Passive Income, thank you for participating.

I'd like to give you all a warm welcome to the 22nd Edition of FRIDAY FAVORITES!

Check out this week's list of things I've learned, how I've implemented them, and what I'm enjoying or pondering.

If you're also on the adventurous pursuit of smart passive income it'll come in handy 😉.

All the best,

P.P.S: Don't know who I am? Look at this.

1. What I'm Reading: A Ton of Nitty-Gritty Details on Prevalidating through Pre-Selling

I've always advocated prevalidating your ideas, market, and products through preselling, but now there are so many tactics to do this it can get confusing.

If you're trying to prevalidate something big that will take a ton of time and financial investment on your part, use the pre-selling method described by Tim Ferriss in the 4-Hour Workweek.

If it's something quick and more casual like a product idea, build a landing or sales page with all the product details and a copywritten "What's In It For Me?" (WIIFM) blurb i.e. how will this product solve your target market's problems and improve their lives. Then add a subscription form or a "Buy Now" button depending on how confident you are about delivering that product to your audience in a timely manner.  Don't pre-sell something you can't actually sell. That'll make people NOT like you.. 👍

2. What I Am Doing: Using Drift to Generate More Leads. It's pretty sweet.

I've recently been re-opening my hiring process for commission-based sales positions (click here if you want to make $500 on every successful sale) and Drift makes that really easy for me and my team.

In my preparation for India, I was implored to read this book.  I'm so glad I did.

This is the best non-fiction book I've ever consumed thus far.

I know the Audible version is expensive, but it is so worth it, especially if you have an audible account and get it free (as your first book) or use your credit to buy the book, effectively cutting the price to around $7.95. Just sign-up for a gold membership and try to cancel your account.  Amazon/Audible will then offer you the first 3 months of your membership for $7.95 instead of $14.95.

4. What I Have Learned / Applied: Taking the time to reset/relax and giving makes you "rich"

Sintra, Portugal

What you see above is a view I enjoyed for over 3 hours sitting on a rock during my trip to Sintra at Cabo Da Roça (the most western point of Europe).  Why am I sharing this with you?

Because sitting on my rock looking at this magnificentness, I realized that you really don't need much in life.  I've since dedicated every Sunday as a reset/relax day that's dedicated to exploring new things internal or external. I'm fully aware of the irony of sharing this in a business building newsletter for those of you who still think it's all about money, so allow me to delve a little deeper into what I mean.

Starting an online business and traveling the world while making passive income has never been easier than it is now.  Everyone with an internet connection and the will to push themselves passed the uncomfortable feelings that come with entrepreneurship can do it today for around $10/month. Granted, the time it takes to educate yourself on everything you need to know will take a long time, longer than you'd want, which is why people work with consultants or buy online courses to fast-track their success.  But, ultimately, it's possible either way and doesn't take much money to live the way I do.

I've actually saved money traveling through Portugal compared to living in New York City, and I met new friends nearly every day I was there.  I've never been as happy as I was in Lisbon, and I don't doubt I'll top that level of happiness here in Mumbai.

Here I am with some local Lisbonites (granted a little on the crazy-happy side)

Here I am with some local Lisbonites (granted a little on the crazy-happy side)

All of the people I've become friends with along the way are now fans of Echo Studio and want to help me. They're happy to share what I do with their friends and family because I helped them in any way I could. The lifestyle of doing passionate work while exploring a new city during the day and meeting awesome people in the evening was intoxicating for me and no amount of money could ever convince me otherwise.  That's what makes life "rich".

I say this simply so that those of you who have the luxury of exploring whatever or wherever you'd like thanks to the freedom of online business understand that it's not about the money.

5. Thought(s) I Am Pondering:

What is something I’ve wanted to explore, but pushed away because of busyness or others’ expectations?

Thanks for reading, have an awesome weekend! 😁
