Creation

Creation

"When you make a business you’re making a little world where you control the laws.
It doesn't matter how things are done everywhere else. In your little world you can make it like it should be." - Derek Sivers

There is controversy over the belief that being an entrepreneur is freeing. Some believe they become slaves to their clients, while others, like Derek, see that it's up to you to become what you want to be.

Taking the leap of faith into entrepreneurship definitely brings its own hardships and obligations, but ultimately you are their creator.

Tunnel-Vision

Tunnel-Vision

"It doesn’t matter how far you might rise — at some point, you are bound to stumble. Because if you’re constantly doing what we do — raising the bar — if you’re constantly pushing yourself higher, higher, the law of averages predicts that you will, at some point, fall. And when you do, I want you to know this, remember this: There is no such thing as failure — failure is just life trying to move us in another direction." - Oprah Winfrey

This picture represents everything about a fixed mindset, more commonly referred to as "tunnel vision". It's enchanting and easy to follow.

There's a clear path and a clear end.

What you may not have noticed, is that the tunnels are also getting smaller. We usually talk about closemindedness as stagnant, but we rarely realize that it's actually worse.

It shrinks as it goes on.

Resolve

Resolve

"All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king." - J. R. R. Tolkien

Perseverance.
The most crucial piece...

Hope

Hope

"But I hope you’ll remember, during those times of doubt and frustration, that there is nothing naïve about your impulse to change the world. Because all it takes is one act of service — one blow against injustice — to send forth what Robert Kennedy called that tiny ripple of hope. That’s what changes the world. That one act." - Barack Obama

Regardless of political views, this advice can resonate with anyone thinking about taking on the entrepreneurial journey.

If you're passionate. If you have something to say. If you have something you need to do.

Stop hesitating and go do it.

People who take this kind of action end up either where they wanted to be or somewhere closer.

The opposite means stagnation.

Ask yourself the tough question: "Do I want to be at this level for the rest of my life?". If not, take that one act. Create that tiny ripple of hope. And change the world. 🌎👁

Dare

Dare

"Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can’t see from the center. Big, undreamed-of things—the people on the edge see them first." Kurt Vonnegut

Entering a saturated space is no excuse for lacking creativity. Dare to fail. Leave the comfort zone and start getting comfortable on the edge.
